Welcome all our wonderful subscribers. Here we go with another edition of How2-4newbies eZine chock full of good stuff you can use to make your everyday use of the computer safe and happy.

If you do nothing else in your time decided for vacations, you have to put
Trenton, Ontario on your list of must visits.

Trenton is a sleepy little town that has earned city status. Certainly not
loaded with tourist traps, but the center of the best vacation lands in
Ontario.

You can shop till you drop in lots of good malls in all directions. Camp
at some to the finest spots in the Haliburtons to the north, and Prince
Edward County
to the South.

We sit at the entrance to the Trent Severn water system for you avid
boaters and offer some pretty good slips to park your boat while you
experience the friendliness of the city folks.

Oh and for you avid fishermen, our claim to fame is the "Pickerel
Capital of the World."

Something for everyone, so come visit. We look forward to meeting
you.

Summer solstice is slowly moving across our individual landscapes here in the northern climates while winter caps its merry bluster with friends in the southern hemisphere.

For us adults, the kids and grandkids are out of school for the summer and making us feel older with their boundless energy.

Boredom for them will soon set in and it is a lesson in attitudes as to just how much we are conditioned to everyday actions. We ARE creatures of habit.

Wherever you are whatever you are doing, it is a slow season for one half and busy time for the other.

Self education and learning never take a day off. The minute we turn on our computers, up comes a question, a need or a problem. If you need help, We will try to answer as many questions as you care to submit to help you find those answers.

Got a real headache? Send us an email and we will cover it in the next issue. mailto:feedback@how2-4newbies.com

Are we ready to take on another day? This is your world. May it spin on and on in a never ending circle of success.

Security Needs for Your Computer

What everyone needs regardless of where they are in this world is reliable antivirus and firewall software protection on their
computer.

What I mean by reliable covers these areas.

** It is easy to setup.
** It easy to use each and everyday.
** They are easy to update and you not have to go thru a whole frustrating series of steps to do so.
** The most important requirement is that they do the job they are supposed to do and not let Trovirmaw's
into your computer.

One more thing to be aware of is that they do not effect other software in any adverse manner.

Other necessary security software that one should consider having on ones computer are adware/spyware cleaners, dialer and keylogger
as well as anti-Trojan software.

In all of these cases one must have at least three of each on their computer. I am saying this because not every piece of software is a be all to end all. They do do their jobs very well, but they do not catch everything, so you need more than one to do the desired job of keeping your computer secure.

Some do work better in that they are better built and easier to use, and some are free to use too.

Also another way to secure your computer is to use port checkers. There are free ones to use that are on the web.

These my friends are things that must be done to keep you safe and secure while surfing the web.

Just remember, they are no good unless you use them.

We will cover more on each of these needs in future issues. Need to know more now?

Till next time ... be safe!

New Business Beginnings

Starting a business online is much like starting a business offline.

There are certain steps you need to take that apply in both instances.

A Business Plan

A budget for advertising, hosting for a web site, and e-course and e-book investments you need to make in you. This list and much more are yet to come.

In all cases, it is necessary to begin at the begining. In this case, it is
the need to find something you know very well and are passionate about.

If you have been on line for any length of time, I am sure you have heard the very same thing said over and over again.

Do take it seriously. If you are to have the motivation and desire necessary to a long term committment to your business success, then do pick something you know a lot about - some skill or hobby or even an off shoot of your career.

Who Are You?

Whatever your age, whatever your offline job or career, whether you stay home to raise your children, are retired or just plain fed up, you are a walking encyclopedia of knowledge a lot of net people would be happy you shared with them.

Take the time now to investigate your history and how what you know can be applied to your future business choice.

The top 3% who succeed or the rest?

A good 95% of all new business startups will fail. The start up business that begin to day will be gone in the next two years or even less. That is not a very good success ratio to build your dreams on, now is it?

That is why this first step is so very important. It is why you must give every thought to what you want out of life, what it is you need to improve your life style and what you can do to make it all happen.

Forget the net hype about instant success, of overnight riches and getting your share by doing nothing but joining some hepped up promise. Believe me, unless you are rich and can afford to consistently lose your hard earned dollar on these instant riches schemes, leave them alone.

If they sound to good to be true, then you can count on it, they are not reliable.

If you have never owned your own business, there is so much you need to know. Even if you have owned or currently own an online business, there is always some new way you need to learn about to help shorten the learning curve.

Be a success or be a statistic. The choice is always yours.
